Die Geschichte der S\u00fcdsee f\u00fchrt bis ins 15. Jahrhundert zur\u00fcck, wo der spanische Konquistador Vasco N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Balboa den S\u00fcdpazifik als erster Europ\u00e4er entdeckte und ihm den Namen Mar del sur \u2013 \u201cS\u00fcdmeer\u201d gab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bis heute ist die S\u00fcdsee wie zum Tr\u00e4umen gemacht:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opalgr\u00fcne Lagunen und lebendige Korallenriffe, die das Zuhause der Falterfisch Familie bieten. Mit ihrer Farbenpracht kann am Riff kein weiterer Meeresbewohner mithalten. Insbesondere f\u00fcr Taucher sind sie ein absolutes Highlight! Das tiefste Meer der Erde ist geheimnisvoll, unber\u00fchrt und bunt schillernd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Land erstrecken sich meterlange, wei\u00dfe Puderzuckerstr\u00e4nde bis in den Horizont. Die hohen Palmen bieten an so mancher Stelle f\u00fcr Badefreunde Schatten. Auf Moorea<\/strong>, einer Insel die zu Franz\u00f6sisch-Polynesien geh\u00f6rt und die man auch die kleine Schwester von Tahiti<\/strong> nennt, kann man genau dieses Naturschauspiel vorfinden. \u00dcbrigens kann man hier auch das Tiki Village<\/strong> besuchen, ein urspr\u00fcngliches Dorf, wo verschiedene Handwerksk\u00fcnste vorgef\u00fchrt werden. An den Vulkanstr\u00e4nden von Samoa<\/strong>, nord\u00f6stlich von Fidschi<\/strong>, lohnt es sich ebenfalls das Innere des Landes zu entdecken, es \u00fcberrascht mit Regenwald, Schluchten und Wasserf\u00e4llen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Natur hat die S\u00fcdsee mit allerlei K\u00f6stlichkeiten, ausgestattet um nicht zu sagen, sie hat Tischlein-Deck-Dich gespielt. Besonders sch\u00f6n ist es, wenn man am Wegesrand pl\u00f6tzlich eine reife Banane entdeckt und diese als kleinen Snack genie\u00dfen darf. <\/p>\n\n\n

Aber auch das saubere Wasser bietet allerlei frischen Fisch und Krustentiere. Das traditionelle Essen ist kaum gew\u00fcrzt und eher mild im Geschmack. Es wird in sogenannten Erd\u00f6fen zubereitet, eine Zubereitungsart, die seit Generationen \u00fcberliefert wird. Dabei wird eine Grube ausgehoben, in der hei\u00dfe Steine f\u00fcr die ben\u00f6tigte Temperatur sorgen. Alle Zutaten, zumeist fettes Schweinefleisch, H\u00e4hnchen, Wurzel- und Blattgem\u00fcse, werden geschichtet und anschlie\u00dfend mit Palmenbl\u00e4ttern bedeckt. Der Garprozess dauert mehrere Stunden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nach einer guten Mahlzeit l\u00e4sst der Durst nicht lange auf sich warten. Wie w\u00e4re es mit einem Vailima<\/strong>, das Bier der S\u00fcdsee, aus heimischem Gerstensaft nach deutschem Reinheitsgebot in Samoa<\/strong> gebraut?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In der polynesischen Kultur stark verwurzelt sind Tattoos, in der Vergangenheit zeigten sie die Herkunft und Stammeszugeh\u00f6rigkeit der Menschen, daher hat jede Insel einen anderen Tattoo-Stil. Ebenso wie Tattoos hat auch Musik und Tanz einen sehr hohen Stellenwert in der Kultur. Die Einheimischen lieben Musik und T\u00e4nze, diese pr\u00e4gen ebenfalls seit Jahrhunderten die Kultur und wurden schon von Uroma praktiziert. Es gibt viele verschiedene Tanzarten, eine davon ist zum Beispiel Aparima, ein anmutiger, flie\u00dfender Tanz, der durch Handbewegungen eine Geschichte erz\u00e4hlt. Auf dem j\u00e4hrlichen Heiva-Festival im Juli, kann man die sch\u00f6nsten Tanzeinlagen live miterleben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tahiti erreicht man ab Frankfurt zum Beispiel mit Air France, \u00fcber zwei Stopps und einer Flugdauer von ca. 18 Stunden. Aber auch die Star Allliance bietet verschiedene Verbindungen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn man schon mal hier ist, lohnt es sich, gleich mehrere\nInseln zu besuchen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
