Irland verzaubert durch seine gr\u00fcnen Wiesen, die abwechslungsreiche Landschaft, historische Burgen und Schl\u00f6sser und seine Gastfreundschaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da mein Freund und ich unbedingt „die gr\u00fcne Insel“ kennenlernen wollten, erf\u00fcllten wir uns dieses Jahr diesen Traum und reisten im April f\u00fcr zwei Wochen nach Irland. Die etwas k\u00fchlen Temperaturen von maximal 12 Grad, liesen uns von unserem Vorhaben nicht abschrecken, denn „es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter, nur schlechte Kleidung“!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Dublin angekommen, nahmen wir am n\u00e4chsten Tag den Bus nach Galway<\/strong>. Das musikalische, lebhafte St\u00e4dtchen an der Westk\u00fcste ist unter Touristen und Einheimischen sehr beliebt, denn hier gibt es alles, was man sich unter einer typisch irischen Stadt vorstellt: Kleine Caf\u00e9s, Stra\u00dfenmusiker, jede Menge Pubs und leckere Fischrestaurants. Galway ist zudem ein guter Ausgangspunkt zu Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten wie dem Nationalpark Connemara<\/span><\/strong>, den Cliffs of Moher<\/span> <\/strong>und den Aran Islands<\/span><\/strong>. Auf zwei Bustouren lernten wir diese wundersch\u00f6nen Orte kennen, f\u00fcr mich sind sie ein absolutes Muss auf einer Reise durch den S\u00fcdwesten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nach drei Tagen verlie\u00dfen wir schweren Herzens die Stadt Galway, freuten uns aber umso mehr auf unser n\u00e4chstes Ziel – Killarney<\/strong>.
Die kleine Ortschaft liegt mitten im „Killarney Nationalpark<\/strong><\/span>“ . Besonders gut l\u00e4sst sich der Nationalpark mit dem Fahrrad erkunden. Eine 40 km lange Fahrradtour durch „The Gap of Dunloe<\/span><\/strong>“  war unser Highlight. Hier mussten wir au\u00dferdem das erste und letzte Mal unsere Regenjacke auspacken. April ist n\u00e4mlich der niederschlag\u00e4rmste Monat in Irland, wir h\u00e4tten wohl besser unsere Winterjacke eingepackt.
Einen Aufenthalt in einem der vielen privaten „Bed & Breakfast<\/span><\/strong>“ Pensionen, darf bei einem Irland Urlaub auch nicht fehlen. Hier lernt man die irische Gastfreundschaft richtig kennen und beginnt den Morgen nach Wunsch mit einem traditionellen, deftigen „Irish Breakfast“- Bohnen, W\u00fcrstchen, Speck und Toast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anschlie\u00dfend an unseren Aufenthalt in Killarney, besuchten wir den Delfin „Fungie“, in der Bucht der Halbinsel Dingle<\/span><\/strong>. Er lebt hier schon jahrelang und kehrt jeden Tag an die Bucht zur\u00fcck, niemand wei\u00df genau wieso. Aus eigenem Willen und ganz spielerisch, begleitet Fungie die Touristenboote und erfreut damit nicht nur die Kinder. Dingle ist ein wundersch\u00f6ner Ort, um Ruhe zu suchen und die Natur zu genie\u00dfen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zum Schluss verbrachten wir noch drei N\u00e4chte in der Hauptstadt Dublin<\/strong>, bevor es zur\u00fcck in den Flieger nach Deutschland ging.
Hier besuchten wir unter anderem den National Botanic Garden<\/span> <\/strong>und das ber\u00fchmte Kulturviertel „Temple Bar<\/span><\/strong>“ . Abends lie\u00dfen wir uns die leckersten Burger mit knusprigen S\u00fc\u00dfkartoffelpommes schmecken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Irland hat unsere Erwartungen v\u00f6llig \u00fcbertroffen und viel mehr zu bieten, als man in zwei Wochen sehen kann. Die k\u00fchlen Temperaturen waren keinesfalls ein Nachteil, somit konnten wir Irland ohne die vielen Besucher der Hauptsaison erleben. Eines steht fest, das war definitiv nicht unser letzter Aufenthalt auf dieser wundersch\u00f6nen Insel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
